Marsha DanzigMarsha Therese Danzig is a pioneer.
The author of Fierce Joy is the Founder and Executive Director of Color Me Yoga® for Children, one of the first children's yoga certifications in the country. Her personal belief is that all children everywhere deserve to learn life affirming skills that help them maintain their joy and realize their full potential. Color Me Yoga® for Children is an international leader in innovative, integrated yoga based programs for children to reach their full potential. Founded in 1999 by Marsha, Color Me Yoga® is passionate about the welfare of our children, and sees yoga as a transformational healing art to bring positive change to our world.

Marsha became a yoga teacher and created Color Me Yoga® while she was still a patient living on dialysis. As a young child, Marsha experienced a rare and deadly form of bone cancer called Ewing's Sarcoma. She was diagnosed and partially treated at Boston Children's Hospital in 1967. She was not expected to survive. Her bone cancer returned at 13 . She lost her lower left leg and later the use of her kidneys, but that did not stop her from pursuing her dreams. Marsha has been a dancer to the core throughout most of her life, dancing such varied forms as ballet, African, Afro-Cuban, Afro-Haitian and Flamenco (in 3" heels!). Marsha received her beautiful Kidney on Labor Day, 2006.

Marsha has degrees from Union College, La Sorbonne, the University of Edinburgh, the Goethe Institute, Harvard University and was a candidate for a Ph.D in Medieval French at Columbia University when yoga soon called her
from dreams and spiritual awakenings.

Marsha has also founded Yoga for Amputees; a yoga program for active and less active amputees to experience the health and wellness benefits of yoga.
